Warranty
Roofing Warranties- Differences and Paragon Roofing BC's Warranty
Roof replacement is an expensive investment into your property. Most owners get distracted by finding the cheapest roofer near them or choosing the right color.
However, quality workmanship and warranty should be at the forefront.
Roofing warranties are written in legal terms, which can be hard to comprehend. This detailed writing makes understanding all your coverage options highly important since you need to know what, and who is covered.
The Basics of Roofing Warranties
There are three main types of roofing warranties:
The standard manufacturer’s warranty covers the product, which is the roofing shingle, cedar shake, or slate.
A workmanship warranty from your contractor that covers the installation which Paragon Roofing BC provides a 20-year warranty to all our roof replacements.
An extended manufacturer’s warranty covers the whole roof, including the workmanship minus the disposal costs.
Standard Manufacturers’ Warranties
The industry standard for most roofing materials is a limited lifetime warranty. What is covered in the warranty, is defined by each manufacturer?
Most only cover the material and not any labor, disposal associated with removing, installing new shingles. Manufacturers usually cover the cost of replacing defective shingles and prorate the value according to their standards.
Contractor Workmanship Warranties
Choosing a roofing contractor who works with quality, integrity is critical in the longevity of your roof, especially in the Vancouver area. We are respected, qualified skilled roofers who stand behind each installation job with a workmanship warranty.
We cover each replacement for 20 years and a roof repair for 5 years. Any failure due to improper installation is covered for that duration.
However, our Contractor warranties exclude issues that aren’t related to their installation workmanship, such as:
- Storm, high wind, and impact damage
- Water damage due to ice dams
- Damages if the roof was altered after installation
- The harm caused by foot traffic
- Leaks triggered by falling tree limbs or wind-driven debris
Extended Manufacturer Warranties

Most manufacturers offer extended warranty coverage based on a certified roofing contractor like Paragon Roofing BC, doing the installation.
Most extended warranties are available based on the roof system being installed with that particular manufacturer’s product, for an additional cost, including:
- Ice and water barriers
- Underlayment
- Hip and ridge cap shingles
- Soffit and ridge vents
- Starter and field shingles
The range of benefits offered are quite extensive:
Coverage for all roof system components:
Excluding flashing, wood decking, and fasteners
